PBL offers a surgical suite and support services for clients looking to do surgical evaluations of the safety and/or efficacy of their devices and procedures. PBL staff has expertise in a number of different surgical procedures including:

• C-arm radiography
• Vascular catherizations
• Bile-duct cannulations
• Isolated limb perfusions
• ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography)
• Various laparoscopic procedures
• Thrombogenicity models
• Artificial lung evaluations

Available animal models include:

SURGERY SUITE

The surgery suite includes prep space for both the surgeons and the animals, a surgery room and a recovery space. The surgery room is equipped with:

• C-arm
• Telemetric monitor
• Pusle oximeter
• Blood pressure and blood gas, heart rate measurement equipment
• ECG (electrocardiogram)
• Electrocautery

STAFF EXPERIENCE

PBL staff has expertise in a number of surgical procedures with a variety of medical devices and surgical technologies. Attending vet is on the staff at U.C. Davis and can call on the resources of the world famous U.C. Davis Veterinary School. The consulting vet has an over 25 years of experience in animal surgery models and techniques. PBL’s experience in surgical support and surgery management services assures fast startup and smooth execution of the projects.
